Zusammenfassung:The effects of vibration on the behavior of an ultra-fine powder in a spouted bed were examined. Application of vibration lowered the incipient spouting gas flow rate and promoted the agitation of the bed powder. Vibration amplitude and frequency did not greatly affect the size of powder-agglomerates in the bed, though they clearly affected the bulk density of the bed powder. The size of entrained agglomerates was decreased by the application of vibration. The amount of entrainment increased with increasing frequency over the range of no vibration to 60Hz in order. The entrainment rate decreased with time and became insignificant due to the increase in agglomerate strength even when vibration was applied.
