Zusammenfassung:Kharkov 22 MC, a cultivar of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) whose roots show a magnetotropic response, was crossed to Reward, a cultivar of spring wheat (T. aestivum L.), whose roots show no magnetotropic response. The magnetotropic responses of the F 1 , B 2 , F 2 , and B 2 populations were the same as that of the female parent used in the crosses or backcrosses, showing that this characteristic is inherited through the cytoplasm.
