AN INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE THE CHROMOSOME CARRYING THE GENE Un6 OF BARLEY

Trisomic analysis indicated that the dominant gene Un6 which conditions immunity in barley to race 2 of loose smut (Ustilago nuda) is not on chromosomes 4, 5 or 6. No linkage was detected between Un6 and the V locus for spike row number of chromosome 2.
