Zusammenfassung: | A 47-year-old female presented to Ophthalmology OPD with a history of redness in the right eye and pain for 3 days. Clinical examination revealed a temporal scleral nodule with congestion. Magnetic resonance aortogram revealed diffuse aortoarteritis involving the aortic arch and its major branches. We diagnosed the case as Takayasu arteritis presenting with anterior nodular scleritis. The patient was started on systemic steroids, immunosuppressives, and topical steroids. At the 8-week follow-up, there was a complete resolution of scleritis with reduced claudication symptoms. TA can rarely present with scleritis. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can be associated with a favorable prognosis. |
