Zusammenfassung: | A 36-year-old male presented with recurrent episodes of redness in the right eye following vigorous eye rubbing since 3 months, treated with on and off steroid eyedrops elsewhere. On examination, his best corrected visual acuity was 6/6 in both eyes with normal anterior segment. A cilia-like structure was noted on fundoscopy along the temporal periphery with clumps of vitreous exudates surrounding it. Pars plana vitrectomy was performed to remove the hair, which was seen adherent to and penetrating through the retina. On follow-up at 3 months, there were no episodes of inflammation noted. |
