Zusammenfassung: | A 26-year-old male presented with decreased vision in left eye (OS) following an attack by a fish while swimming in a pond. His best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was hand movements in OS and 20/20 in right eye (OD). Fundus examination and ultrasonography B-scan confirmed the presence of traumatic endophthalmitis in OS. Wound exploration confirmed the presence of a foreign body near limbus, which was removed and found to be a cartilaginous fish tissue measuring 4.5 millimeters in length. Pars plana vitrectomy was performed, and intravitreal antibiotics were administered. The case highlights a rare form of ocular injury and its management. |
