Zusammenfassung: | We describe a new clinical characteristic noted in congenital cataract with a preexisting posterior capsular defect (PPCD). We describe this sign as a “ribcage sign” owing to its similarity to the human ribcage enclosing thoracic organs. The permeability changes in the posterior capsule and interaction of the cortex with the vitreous could be the probable cause of such a unique morphology. |
