Zusammenfassung: | Congenital tarsal kink syndrome is a rare disease that causes inward rotation of the upper eyelid, leading to lacrimation, photophobia, blepharospasm, and corneal scarring. Most of the reports in the literature are unilateral cases. We report a 6-month-old male infant with bilateral tarsal kink syndrome without corneal abrasion or keratitis. The defect was corrected with transconjunctival tarsotomy with marginal rotational sutures. The postoperative outcome was satisfactory. Early diagnosis and treatment help to avoid visual complications in the long term. Increased awareness among pediatricians will help in early referral and faster management. |
