Zusammenfassung:We report the first case of a patient treated with a newly developed artificial dermis, Terudermis, Terumo Corp., Japan, for a disrupted (dehisced) wound after the superficial reposition of left brachial artery. The 50 year old female hemodialysis patient had been undergoing maintenance hemodialysis treatment for 21 years. She had three AV fistula operations for blood access before the creation of the superficialized artery. The wound was disrupted at the removal of the stitches two weeks after the operation. It was treated conservatively for about a month after this episode, but failed to heal naturally. The left brachial artery ran beside the disrupted area. Therefore the transplant of a newly developed artificial dermis was attempted to treat the skin defect. After the transplanted wound was coated with a well-granulated surface, thick skin from the inguinal was grafted onto the wound. Two weeks after the operation, the transplanted skin was in good condition and growing. Thereafter the left superficialized brachial artery was as used the blood access without trouble. This is the first case of the application of the newly developed artificial dermis, Terudermis, to the repair of a disrupted wound in a hemodialysis patient.
