Zusammenfassung: | In order to examine a variety of factors believed to be involved in the hypogeusia of hemodialysis patients, patients were classified on the basis of their original disease into a group with diabetes mellitus and a group with chronic nephritis, and subsequently subjected to examination using filter discs. No correlation was observed between gustation threshold levels and age or hemodialysis history in the two patient groups. The diabetes mellitus group was generally found to have amblygeusia, but no definite tendency was identified.
