HDF without the need for drip infusion into the blood line: push/pull HDF

We have developed push/pull HDF which was an autocontrolled system for simultaneous HF and HD with no need for drip infusion into the blood line. The inulin clearance of this system was much more than HD and comparable to 18 L-replacement HDF (present system, 42.3±8.5ml/min; HD, 11.9±4.8ml/min; conv...

Zusammenfassung:We have developed push/pull HDF which was an autocontrolled system for simultaneous HF and HD with no need for drip infusion into the blood line. The inulin clearance of this system was much more than HD and comparable to 18 L-replacement HDF (present system, 42.3±8.5ml/min; HD, 11.9±4.8ml/min; conventional HDF, 38.3±5.6ml/min). This system showed less OF rate drop during the treatment than HF, because of the intermittent reverse transmembrane flush in the hemofilter. The middle molecule sieving coefficient of the hemofilter membrane was found to decline markedly as HF progressed. The sieving coefficient of the hemofilter membrane for inulin (MW 5, 200) was 0.88±0.04 before use against 0.26±0.12 after use (p
