A case of left thalamic infarction causing dysgeusia in the right half of the tongue: Follow-up examinations using electrogustometry
Dysgeusia associated with cerebrovascular disease is relatively uncommon. We treated a 58-year-old male with dysgeusia on the right side of the tongue and cheiro-oral syndrome. Zusammenfassung: | Dysgeusia associated with cerebrovascular disease is relatively uncommon. We treated a 58-year-old male with dysgeusia on the right side of the tongue and cheiro-oral syndrome. A small area of high signal intensity was detected in the left thalamus using diffusion-weighted MRI of the head. Electrogustometry showed an obviously elevated threshold potential in the area of the right chorda tympani nerve on day 11, which was improved on day 53. |
