Zusammenfassung: | Between 1989 and 1996, there were 54 patients with synchronous multiple colorectal carcinomas identified in an operative series of 560 patients in the First Department of Surgery, Nagasaki University School of Medicine, for a frequency of 9.6 percent. When comparing the mean age of patients, sex distribution, histological stage, the incidence of extra colonic malignancies, and family history of malignancies in a first degree relatives, there was no significant difference between the group with and without synchronous carcinomas.
