Zusammenfassung:A 55-year-old man visited our hospital because of positive fecal occult blood in his health care screening. He has been exposed to trichloroethylen during his work. Barium enema study, abdomial CT and colonoscopic examination were carried out, revealing multiple cystoid lesions with covering of nomal colonic mucosa. These lesions are mainly occupied in the submucosal layer and the inner layer of the cystic wall is microscopically lined out by multinuclear giant cells. This finding corresponds with pneumatosis cystoides coli. In the case of pneumatosis cyctoides coli, if any other definite causes are not found, one should consider that trichloroethylen exposure is a cause of this.
