Zusammenfassung: | A case of cystic lymphangioma of the transverse colon is presented. A 66 year-old female was admitted to our hospital in December 1983 because of lower abdominal pain. Physical examination was negative and laboratory findings on admission showed normal results. Examination of the gastrointestinal tract revealed a hemispheric mass with smooth surface in the transverse colon. It was confirmed endoscopically that shape of the mass altered easily the change of body position and the compression with tip of endoscope. The content evacuated from the mass through colonofiberscope was clear yellow fluid. The diagnosis of cystic lymphangioma of the transverse colon was confirmed preoperatively. Cystic lymphangioma of the colon are rare benign tumors and only 15 cases have been reported in Japan. Colonofiberscopy is the most valuable examination in such cases, and endoscopic biopsy is particularly helpful. |
