Zusammenfassung:1) A 13 year-old woman (case 1) was reffered to Koseiren Itoigawa hospital in Niigata complaining of ileocecalgia. She underwent appendectomy as acute appendicitis. Gross finding of the appendix showed small protruding lesion at the apical region, measuring 9 × 9 mm. The cut surface of the lesion showed whitish yellow medullary appearance. Histological findings of the neoplasm revealed nodular nests of the neoplasm consisting of uniform pleomorphic neoplastic cells with small round nucleus invading in the subserosal area. Silver impregnation by both Grimelius and Fontana-Masson methods showed positive reaction respectively. Electron microscopically, pleomorphic and high electrondense granules 80 to 400 nm in diameter, were present. She has been free of recurrence for 5 years and 7 months postoperatively. 2) A 13 year-old man (case 2) was admitted in Horinouchi hospital in Niigata complaining of ileocecalgia. He underwent appendectomy as acute appendicitis. Gross findings of the specimen showed fecal thrombus at the apical region with slight edematous mucosa and no tumorous lesion. Histologically, small scirrhous neoplastic lesion, 2 × 2 mm in diameter, was recognized in the proper muscle layer at the apical region of the appendix. Positive reaction by Grimelius' stain and negative reaction by Fontana-Masson's one were encountered. Electron-microscopical examination revealed round electron dense endocrine granules 130 to 170 nm in diameter. He has been free of recurrence for 28 months postoperatively.
