Zusammenfassung: | Mammographic screening for breast cancer was performed at Tokushima Health Screening Center from 1995 to 1997. The examinees (40-49 years) numbered 1, 667, six of whom were diagnosed as having breast cancer and were all at an early stage. The detection rate and sensitivity of mammographic screening in women aged 40-49 were 0.36% and 85.6% (6 of 7 cases), respectively. These results suggest that mammographic screening of women aged 40-49 in Japan may be worthwhile. |
