Zusammenfassung: | "Biopolymers have gained significant attention from researchers belonging to diverse fields, due to their unique physicochemical properties, renewability, biocompatibility and biodegradability, rendering them suitable for a wide variety of applications. Within its class of materials, cellulose has been the most widely exploited one. The present review aims to critically appraise the reported biomedical applications of cellulose and cellulose-based composite materials. The fabrication methods of the composites are discussed in brief and subsequently, the biomedical applications, including tissue engineering, wound healing, drug delivery etc., are reviewed." |
