Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A new species of Parathesis (A. DC.) Hooker f., P. calimensis Ricketson & Pipoly (Myrsinaceae), from the Department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia, is described and illustrated. Parathesis calimensis has terminal or terminal and lateral inflorescences, dorsifixed anthers, and a fine, closely appressed tomentum on the branchlets and abaxial leaf surfaces, which places it in Parathesis subg. Parathesis sect. Cubanae Ricketson & Pipoly. It is most similar to P. pseudocrassiramea Ricketson & Pipoly from Costa Rica but is easily recognized by its terete branchlets, large leaves, and fruits.
