Zusammenfassung:The rapid increase in the population of the United States and the expansion of the poultry industry to meet the increased demand has put the poultry industry and their neighbors on a collision course involving land use conflicts. The proper siting of poultry facilities resolves land use conflicts before they arise. A cooperative program involving industry, the public, and representatives of local government for the development of siting and management guidelines is outlined. Siting and management guidelines were developed that can be adapted to poultry producing areas nationwide
