Zusammenfassung:The purpose of present study was to clarify the indication and limitation of Microwave Coagulation Therapy (MCT) under laparotomy for the tumors, which anatomical location were classified by the trunk of hepatic vein (THV) and the proximal glisson (PG). Method : Twenty eight patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), who had not been able to receive hepatectomy because of their poor liver function, underwent laparotomic MCT. They were classified into three groups ; peripheral type (P group, 10 cases) : tumors located remote from THV and PC ; THV invading type (G group ; 9 cases) : tumors invaded or compressed THV ; PG invading type (G group : 9 cases) : tumors invaded or compressed PG. Results : No complication was not recognized in P group and one (11.1%) in V group, whereas three complications (33.3%) were noted in G group. No local recurrences (22.2%) in G group. Conclusions : MCT in the P and G groups seems to be indicated, however MCT should be carried out carefully in the G group because of the high morbidity rate of complications and recurrences related to bile duct.
