A Study of Track-Edge Noise in Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Media

Track edge noise for perpendicular magnetic recording medium is analyzed with off-track noise profile for reverse-dc erased track. It is found that bit-edge noise for perpendicular medium is nearly zero. The edge noise arises from transition edge, which noise also causes at side erased band.
