Zusammenfassung:Pt/Co and Pd/Co multilayers are attractive candidates for a magneto-optical recording medium, particularly because of their larger Kerr rotation at short wavelength where future ultra-high density recording is possible. In this paper we discuss the attributes of multilayers and point out some of their deficiencies which need improvement in order to meet the overall requirements for a high density, high performance recording medium.
