Zusammenfassung:The paper deals with a syntactic-semantic analysis of numerous and various examples of k+dative case constructions identified in the letters by Petar II Petrovic Njegos. As, in comparison to the situation nowadays, the research of the corpus showed that there is a wider range of functions and meanings of the aforementioned construction, the author paid a significant attention to the competitively disposable language forms that have been put out of use in time. It is concluded that the k+dative case costructions in the language of Njegos' letters were found more often in the field of abstract rather than concrete directives, and even, when it comes to spatial relations, they have the meaning of adlativity, rather expressing the goal than the direction. On the one hand, this is conditioned by the historical development of the meanings and functions of this construction, and on the other, it is deeply related to the nature of the epistolary discourse the author has analyzed for the purpose of the article
