Untersuchungen zur Feuchteverteilung und Spannungsausbildung in Holzbauteilen bei Wechselklimalagerung | Investigation of moisture distribution and stress formation in timber construction materials under changing climatic conditions

The work examined the behaviour of moisture in three-layered,massive, 60 to 70 mm thick wood panels using various methods or diverse structures under climatic stress. In a first test samples were subjected to an alternating wet/dry climate,whereby the moisture was continuously measured for resistance in the outer and middle layer using an electric charge. At the end of each humid and dry phase the tension between the layers on some panels was determined by cutting them open. In addition the occurrence of cracks in the outer layers was recorded. In a second test a climatic difference with a cold and a warm side were carried out, whereby the moisture distribution in the three layers was continuously measured using an electric charge.
