Zusammenfassung: | The possibility of the occurrence of a mega earthquake of the near-fault type or trench type having been pointed out in recent years, high seismic performance is an important requirement for buildings. The authors have developed and proposed a coupled vibration control system that consists of two structures with greatly differing natural periods housed within the same building. As an example of a high-rise RC condominium building to which this coupled vibration control system is applied, we introduce such a building specially designed to withstand mega earthquakes. Further, we introduce a hybrid system that combines a coupled vibration control system and a base-isolating system, which we have newly developed to accommodate a broader periodic band and offer the robustness and redundancy required to withstand higher seismic excitation levels. |
