Zusammenfassung: | Yokohama Raw Silk Inspection warehouses, completed in 1926 at Kitanaka-dori Yokohama, were designed by Oto Endo, famous as a pioneer to introduce reinforced concrete structure in Japan. The followings were identified by the examination; the warehouses with reinforced concrete have flat slab structure. These buildings had rarely changed to its original appearance and structure. A new technology was introduced to resist an earthquake as well as fire since the buildings were constructed just after Great Kanto Earthquake. Therefore, it can be said that the buildings are surely recognized as an important property on both architectural and technological histories. |
