Russia’s contribution to the development of healthcare in Montenegro

Russian connections with area of Montenegro are centuries old. The Russian state was helping the Balkan Christians: politically, financially, religiously, and culturally. A particularly significant form of Russian influence, represents the establishment and development of health institutions. That especially came to the fore after 1917, when many Russian educated doctors who made a huge contribution to strengthening the health system of Montenegro come to these areas.
