In this article, the authors try to analyze the styles and techniques of female vocal performance in Chinese opera and identify its unique features. In addition, he authors also consider the influence of Western opera on the development of Chinese national opera in the 19th - 20th centuries and give specific examples of operas with female vocals in the Chinese opera tradition.
