Zusammenfassung:The article is devoted to the study of the situation of religious communities in Western Siberia during the period of perestroika. On the basis of archival materials, some of which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, and normative legal documents, the main directions of activity of regional authorities in 1985-1991 in the system of state and confessional policy of the USSR are considered. The main trends in the establishment of state-confessional relations in Western Siberia are analyzed, taking into account the changes in the socio-political situation in the last years of the USSR.
