The State of Carpet Weaving in the Karabakh Region of Azerbaijan in the Beginning of the 20th Century

The article examines the external and internal conditions that led to the accelerated development of carpet weaving in the Karabakh region in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The reason for this was a sharp increase in demand, especially in foreign markets, for carpet products produced in the region, and an increase in the possibility of exporting carpet products to Russian and European markets. The article also indicates the main reasons for the decline in carpet production in the region at the beginning of the 20th century.
