Zusammenfassung: | Abstract
The development of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, their first application in glaucoma therapy, and recent investigations concerning these medications are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on those studies that attempt to explain the causes of side effects which frequently result in patient intolerance or noncompliance. With this information, it is possible to develop a rational therapeutic approach that incorporates knowledge of serum chemical changes and dose-response relationships. |
