Antileishmanial activity of traditional plants against Leishmania donovani in golden hamsters

Abstract A total of 23 plants were evaluated for antileishmanial activity with Leishmania donovani - infected hamsters. Extracts derived from Alstonia scholaris, Swertia Chirata, Tibouchina Semidecandra, Tinospora cordifolia and Nyctanthes arbortristis were found to be active.
