Zusammenfassung:Summary This is a case of a 73-year-old man who underwent arthroscopic decompression of his left subacromial space. This procedure was carried out under general anaesthesia with the joint continuously irrigated with fluid. The volume of fluid absorbed into the systemic circulation was estimated by measuring the expired ethanol concentration using an alcol meter.
