Cicatricial ectropion of all four eyelids with generalized eruptive keratoacanthomas type Grzybowski: A case report

Cicatricial ectropia of all four eyelids can cause sight-threatening exposure keratitis. They are usually caused by burning or lye burn of the face as well as by dermatological diseases which lead to vertical shrinkage of the lids. Medical treatment should take the underlying systemic disease into consideration. Nevertheless, operative procedures frequently become difficult when systemic diseases involve the skin in general. The authors observed a 53-year-old man with cicatricial ectropion of all four eyelids associated with the very rare disseminated eruptive keratoacanthomas type Grzybowski. Keratoacanthomas and shrinkage of the lids did not respond to various trials of medical treatment. Operative treatment has become difficult because all donor areas for skin grafts were affected.
