Zusammenfassung:A 58-year-old man had a persistent perineal sinus following an abdominoperineal resection. An excision of the sinus was performed. Histology revealed that the sinus tract was bordered by a granulation tissue exhibiting numerous vacuolated cells containing polyvinylpyrrolidone. The origin of polyvinylpyrrolidone was related to lengthy irrigation of the fistula with Betadine.
