Zusammenfassung:The surface effect in rectangular samples of nonmagnetic materials in a uniform alternating field is investigated. Results given by electrodynamic formulas are compared with the corresponding experimental results. Significant discrepancies between the calculated and experimental results may be explained on the basis of solid-state theory. The electrical conductivity of metal samples in a uniform alternating field may vary with increase in frequency of the field.
