Zusammenfassung: | ICTs and other technologies already assist people with disabilities in daily living; however, opportunities offered by these technologies during the design of the inclusive built environment are not much explored. The BE-free@campus project conducted at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, is reported as an experiment testifying how potentials of ICTs can be exploited. Results of the project, i.e. (i) a personal digital assistant for navigation of students with disabilities and their caregivers in University buildings and spaces and (ii) criteria for the meta- design of a University PEBA, can be exported to other contexts of application. |
