Zusammenfassung:We have treated 3 patients with Castleman's disease during the past 15 years. All three patients were asymptomatic, and the tumors were discovered during routine chest radiographic examination. The noninvasive tumors, which originated from the mediastinum near the hilus were removed without difficulty. The histopathological diagnosis was Castleman's disease, hyaline vascular type. The postoperative course has been uneventful, and there have been no recurrences of the tumor 15, 12 and 0.5 years after the operations. Complete removal of the tumor with extensive dissection of lymph nodes is necessary to prevent recurrence and/or malignant change of the tumor. Close follow-up examinations are important.
