A Case of Empty Follicle Syndrome

We report one case of empty follicle syndrome experienced at our hospital. Control ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) was used to induce ovulation, and in vitro fertilization was done. Oocytes were collected 24 hours after hCG 5000 units were injected intramuscularly. On collecting oocytes, more than 40 follicles were punctured in both ovaries, but only one growing follicle could be obtained. With the development of ART in recent years, various problems have surfaced. This empty follicle syndrome may be said to be one of them. There are many cases in which ova cannot be collected, leading to cancellation of the program. In order to reduce such cases, more careful examination of cases appears to be necessary.
