Zusammenfassung:The growing body of literature on Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the past decades has advocated the use of CALL in educational circles in order to get to a normalized state. However, the uptake of CALL is stipulated by various known and unknown factors. This study examined various factors that may have influenced the uptake of CALL resulting in disuse and discouragement. Fifty Iranian in-service teachers filled out a questionnaire on the sources of CALL use discouragement. The results indicated a comparative analysis of these sources. Lack of facilities and perceived usefulness were regarded as the most and the least discouraging factors in the uptake of CALL respectively. Pertinent discussion and some suggestions for consideration were also put forth.
