Zusammenfassung:Indian retail industry is growing rapidly in recent years and has emerged as one of the fastest growing industries and most dynamic industry in India and the entry of new players, change in government policies and globalization leads to this fastest growth. It contributes accounts for over 10 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and around 8 percent of the employment.  It is expected to grow to US$1.1 trillion by 2020. In 2018, supermarkets grew 25 percent, while hypermarkets grew by 15 percent. The retailers prefer stand-alone stores because it is easy to work under the single landlord whereas in malls they need to get multiple approvals, Standalone stores eliminate unwanted delay in operation. This study intends to project the growth of Indian retail sector and to analyze whether there is any significant difference between the Standalone Retail Store and Store in a Mall. The researcher applied percentage analysis, weighted average, t test and mean to analyse the results for the survey conducted among 300 sample respondents.  The preference of the store factor mainly on Salesmen knows the crowed makes one feel comfortable.  The study reveals that the customers give more preference to the store factors than the comfort factors and hence there is no significant difference among the Standalone Retail Store and Store in a Mall.
