Nagrobek księżniczki raciborskiej Eufemii

The subject of the article is the tombstone of Princess Euphemia, the prioress of the Dominicans in Racibórz, who died on January 17, 1359. The author analyses the source, on the basis of which he comes to the conclusion that the grave of Ofka was in the middle of the crypt under the chapel of St. Dominic, adjoining from the north to the church of the Dominicans in Racibórz. The grave was covered with a stone slab with an engraved image of Euphemia. In 1623, a portrait of Ofka was painted on the basis of this image and was placed in the chapel of St. Dominic. In this chapel in the 17th century (rather after 1637 or after 1658 and before 1672/1674), a wooden vault in the form of a tomb was made for Euphemia, covered with a coffin, in which there was a figure presenting Ofka. It was renovated in 1738, and in 1821 moved to the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Racibórz, where it was located until 1930.
