Zusammenfassung:The investigation reported is concerned with a method due to Chernyi (1961). Chernyi arrives at a pair of ordinary differential equations which describe the shock shapes and body pressure distribution associated with slender planar bodies and bodies of revolution. The investigation shows that the pair of equations reduces to a single quadrature for the body shape when the shock shape is known.
