Linear stability of differentially heated spatially developing layers
Heterogeneous shear layers characterized by the presence of a wake deficit and a Gaussian temperature profile are discussed. In the absence of a wake deficit, the Kelvin-Helmholtz mode is inhibited as density gradients increase.
