Zusammenfassung:An algorithm for the detection and modeling of collisions between a space structure and a tether is presented. This algorithm is merged into a dynamic simulation package using a lumped-mass model for the tether. A simulation of a possible collison case involving the International Space Station is presented using this model. Further applications of this technique can include the study of tether dynamics during contact between the tether and the deployer mechanism or guide. (CSA)
