A Sex Difference in Recombination Values between Extended Brown and Phosphoglucose lsomerase Loci in Japanese Quail
The first ever autosomal linkage in the Japanese quail was discovered between extended brown (E) and phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) loci. Recombination values were estimated to be 31.3±1.6% for males and 43.6±1.5% for females, respectively, and a highly significant sex difference in recombination va...

Zusammenfassung: | The first ever autosomal linkage in the Japanese quail was discovered between extended brown (E) and phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) loci. Recombination values were estimated to be 31.3±1.6% for males and 43.6±1.5% for females, respectively, and a highly significant sex difference in recombination values was revealed. The change in recombination values with parental age was not recognized in the period from 11 to 25 weeks of age. This autosomal linkage was first found in the Japanese quail. Therefore, it was named Linkage Group I. |
