Zusammenfassung:A 50-year-old woman with adenoid cystic carcinoma in the origin of the left main bronchus was presented. The patient had been done total gastrectomy for stomach reticulosarcoma threee years previously. Linac 6120 rads irradiation with Bleomycin 105mg administration was performed during one and a half months instead of excision because the surgical procedure of carcinal resection was seemed too heavy for the patient. After 3000 rads irradiation she had no dyspnea, and 4500 rads no hemosputum. But even after the total dosis of 6120 rads irradiation there was about one third amount of the tumor still remained in the anterior wall of the origin of the left main bronchus. Chemotherapies using Mitomycin C 40mg per os, MFC combination (Mitomycin C 40mg, 5-Fluorouracil 2500mg and Cytosine arabinoside 200mg I.V.), and 5-Fluorouracil 1500mg I. V. were done respectively during. the following one and a half years. One year and four months after these therapies bronchofiberscopy revealed the tumor disappeared and there was just a slightly elevated area in the anterior wall of the origin of the left main bronchus. Punch biopsy showed basal cell hyperplasia histologically. The patient is now being well and having no sign of recurrence of the tumor two years after therapy. Both radiation and chemotherapy may have been effective for this patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma.
