Zusammenfassung: | The intraesophageal pressure with esophageal speech on laryngectomized patients at the time of phonation was measured to study the mechanism and capacity of esophgeal speech. The results are as follows: Intraesophageal pressure always marked the same pattern no matter what was spoke. The wave patterns are the most complicated in the good esophageal speakers. Maximum pressure at phonation is the lowest and swallowing pressure is the highest in the good speakers. The value of a ratio of the integral quantity by deglutition to that of phonations is the lowest in good speakers. The measurement of intraesophageal is not onlyuseful to learn the function of pseudoglottis, but to teach esophageal speech and to find out secondary changes at hypopharynx, pseudoglottis and lower esophagus. |
