Zusammenfassung:It is known that there was a Baburid-Ottoman relation since the Babur Period. However, this relation was not improved well since they did not expect a political interest from eachother. However, it is seen that this relation was improved during the reign of Shah Jahan. Shah Jahan had the aim of creating a Sunni alliance and include the Ottomans into this alliance to recapture Qandahar, seized by the Shia Safavid. Inthisway, he was planning to gain the Ottoman’s trust and psychological support. The Babur Empire set his sights on those political aims by establishing diplomatic relations with the Ottoman Empire. The aim of this study is to shed some light on how the Babur-Ottoman diplomatic relations improved during the reign of Shah Jahan by focusing on the political atmosphere of the relevant period and by analysing the discourse of the Ottoman Emperor.
